If you love great homemade ice cream, you'll want to finish a meal at one of Covington's bevy of farm-to-table eateries with a stop into Hoodoo Ice Cream. This sweet corner of the Northshore culinary scene offers handmade, locally-sourced ice cream made from the grass-fed, Jersey cows' milk of Mauthé Progress Milk Barn in Mississippi, makers of local favorites Creole Cream Cheese and Milklady Cheesecakes.
Hoodoo offers some 14 different flavors that uses locally-grown fruits, herbs and other additions. Get two scoops in a waffle cone made while you wait, or a cake cone or cup. Or, sample a variety of flavors all at once with a flight of four 2-oz servings.
Open 7 days at week at 12 noon and closes at 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 7 p.m. Sunday.
