Fine, made-from-scratch fare from husband-wife chef team Keith and Nealy Frentz, in the charming setting of Covington's historic train depot. Using ingredients from local farmers and suppliers, Lola offers a Louisiana-inspired, upscale menu featuring fresh seafood in gourmet soups, hot and cold sandwiches, salads and craft cocktails, including their popular frosé frozen drinks. Save room for dessert: Lola has long been known for its delectable treats, and recently established Bertie's Simple Southern Sweets, scheduled to open at the Southern Hotel's newest addition in 2024.

Former sous chefs at the prestigious Brennan's in New Orleans, and graduates of Johnson & Wales University with degrees in the culinary arts, the Frentzes have been cooking up award-winning recipes at their restaurant since 2006. In 2009 and again in 2021, they were both awarded “Chefs to Watch” from Louisiana Cookin’ magazine, and competed in the Louisiana Seafood Cook-off in 2011 (taking 3rd place) and 2012 (taking 1st place). As the King & Queen of Louisiana Seafood that year, they represented the state in the 2013 Great American Seafood Cook-off, taking 2nd place over 14 other states.

Lola is open for dinner on Friday and Saturday (reservation recommended), and lunch weekdays (take-out available). Visit their Facebook or Instagram for daily lunch specials. Available for private parties and catering, too.
