The Northshore Food Bank Resale shop in Covington serves the community through raising funds which support food bank programs. The shop regularly provides clothing and housewares free of charge to individuals in need, including Food Bank participants, people impacted by disasters such as fires or flooding, as well as those participating in programs at other non-profits including Safe Harbor, Family Promise, James Storehouse and more. One-hundred percent of net profits from the resale shop goes toward feeding over 400 individuals and families each week across St. Tammany and Washington Parishes.
The Resale Shop relies solely on the generosity of the Northshore community, accepting and selling donations of everything from major appliances in good working order to like-new, gently used furniture, antiques and rare items, bikes, skateboards, scooters, clothing, home décor, housewares, small home appliances, jewelry, movies, music, purses, luggage, shoes, sporting goods, tools and board games.
The Resale Shop is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9:30 am to 4 pm, and Saturday, 9:30 am to 2 pm. Online shopping is available on the website. Donation Hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9:30a-12:30p. Donation drop off is located on the side of the building on W 29th Ave. Closed Wednesdays and Sundays.
ABOUT NORTHSHORE FOOD BANK
Northshore Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been serving the residents of St. Tammany and Washington Parishes since 1984. The organization provides food assistance to more than 400 individuals and families each week who live at or below the 130% federal poverty guidelines and have found themselves in need within our community. The Food Bank is supported by local food drives held by individuals, schools, civic organizations and businesses, as well as monetary donations and Second Harvest donations. It is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm to serve the needs of the community and to accept donations.
