Looking for a self-guided sightseeing tour? If you love the arts, and public art murals, you've got to spend an afternoon exploring the murals that adorn parts of Olde Towne Slidell. Along Front Street from Fremaux to Erlanger Streets, and at First, Carey, Cousin and Streets. Eight pieces depicting the natural beauty and cultural life of Slidell and southeast Louisiana were created from 2008 to 2011 by local artists Phil Galatas, Barbara Shaw, Carol Hallock, Blake Kenworthey, Milo Stephens, Micki Asche, Adam Sambola, Bruce Hume and Lori Gomez. As you search for each mural, enjoy your stroll through Slidell's Olde Towne area, with plenty of stops along the way to get a bite to eat, shop, or have a cocktail or two. Slidell's Office of Cultural and Public Affairs, which provides a handy, illustrated map of each mural's location. You can download/save the map from our site, or click the website above to view online and learn more about the City of Slidell.
