Flyboarding in St. Tammany Parish
A relatively new extreme water sport, flyboarding uses a device that's attached via a 60-foot fire hose to the jet discharge of a Personal Water Craft (think Jet Ski). The "pilot" slips his feet into the device's bindings and the propulsion of the PWC pumps more than 1,000 gallons of water per minute through the flyboard, sending the pilot as high as 40 feet into the air. Kids and seniors and everyone in between can get hooked on flyboarding, which doesn't even require the pilot know how to swim. While the pilot is controlling navigation, the throttle is controlled by an Aquafly pro in the PWC.
