Dine riverside at The Anchor

Restaurants, Madisonville

The Tchefuncte River dominates the landscape and is at the soul of Madisonville, so it is the focus of most of the dining in the little town as well. Several well-loved establishments line the town’s riverfront offering diners a scenic water view along with regional specialties like spicy boiled seafood, broiled and fried fish, poboys and more. The old favorite, Morton’s, with its iconic “Hot Boiled Seafood” sign and powerhouse cocktails, and Abita Roasting Company have their loyal fans. Not all of the town’s restaurants line the Tchefuncte. Madisonville’s favorite restaurateur, Keith Young, operates his eponymous steakhouse nearby, as do Lighthouse Pizza and Daiquiris and Impastato Cellars.
