The St. Tammany Parish Tourist and Convention Commission is a public, quasi-governmental agency created on Nov. 18, 1976. The commission is governed by a seven-member board of directors appointed by the St. Tammany Parish Council and Parish President. In other destinations, our organization may be called a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) or Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).
The vision of the St. Tammany Parish Tourist and Convention Commission is to establish St. Tammany Parish as a premier travel destination.
To market and promote St. Tammany Parish as a highly desirable destination for visitors and thereby increase the economic impact of tourism on the area.
The STPTCC has been recognized with top awards from the Louisiana Travel Association, City-County Communications & Marketing Association, and the Southeast Tourism Society, which covers a 12-state region and represents hundreds of destination marketing organizations. We are fully accredited by the globally recognized Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP).
The office is located in Mandeville on Highway 59 just north of Interstate 12 (Exit 65). Stop by to pick up a visitor guide, brochures, and information about attractions across Louisiana. Be sure to stretch your legs on the surrounding boardwalk; the center was erected over a native swamp filled with trees, bushes, and plants native to Southeast Louisiana.
In support of social distancing measures, the Visitor Center is open with masks and social distancing required while Louisiana is in Phase III of the state's reopening plan.

The St. Tammany Parish Tourist Commission is a political subdivision of the State of Louisiana that is an active community partner providing inspiration and information to people thinking of traveling to St. Tammany Parish. We promote the Northshore’s events, festivals, culture, cuisine and quality of life. The STPTCC offers marketing services, website and visitor guide features, group tour planning, social media promotion and more free of charge to tourism-related businesses in St. Tammany Parish. Our funding is provided public sources. We are committed to complete transparency in how we are funded, how we allocate these funds, how we operate and the results that we achieve.
Tourism promotion is a tool that helps our local community by putting people to work and contributing to the quality of life in St. Tammany Parish. Did you know St. Tammany Parish has the fourth largest tourist economy in the State of Louisiana? It's likely that someone in your family or one of your neighbors directly benefits from the tourism industry and the entire community benefits indirectly. Tourism promotion is an investment in our community and our people. The work of the St. Tammany Parish Tourist Commission supports jobs for people and provides economic opportunity and growth. Tourism promotion is funded largely by those who visit and not the people that live here.
We thank the community and our local, state and nationally elected officials for their ongoing support as we provide this important public service.
The administration handles the day-to-day operations of the TCC.
The TCC staff operates the official parish visitor center in Mandeville on Highway 59 just north of Interstate 12 (Exit 65). Hours are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Closed Sundays and major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day, and Easter Sunday).
This department works to procure media coverage for St. Tammany Parish, as well as handling the TCC's advertising and promotion, TCC website and social media, collateral materials (visitor guide, brochures, etc.), and general media and public relations. The St. Tammany Film Office also resides in this department.
The TCC sales department promotes St. Tammany Parish as a highly desirable destination to travel agents, tour operators, sporting event organizers, and meeting planners.
A three percent hotel occupancy tax funds the St. Tammany Parish Tourist Commission. We also receive 25% of the four percent state sales tax levied on lodging. Our organization does not receive any funding from St. Tammany Parish resident taxes.
