HOTELS, ABITA SPRINGS
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Abita was known for its resort hotels welcoming guests in search of a cool place to spend the summer and the area’s restorative spring waters. Sadly, though some of the old structures still stand, all now are private homes. Visitors to the area usually stay in nearby Covington, just 10 minutes away.
